Africa Gas Forum seeks to unlock new business opportunities for African investors

Africa Energy Indaba is starting this week. The Africa Oil & Gas Forum will take place on 20th February and is an official side event to the Africa Energy Indaba. Africa’s oil & gas market/consumption potential will grow significant over the next two decades driven by population growth, urbanization, and emergence of wealthier middle class. Africa is endowed with natural resources that are changing the global energy landscape with 6 of the top 10 global discoveries in the oil & gas sector in 2013 being made in Africa. Lawrence talks to the Director of Africa House a specialist Africa focused consulting firm, Duncan Bonnett on this.

MP ousted to make place for Molefe

The intrigue surrounding the impending swearing-in of former Eskom chief executive officer Brian Molefe as an MP deepened when City Press learnt that an ANC MP, Abram Mudau, was pushed to resign from Parliament so that Molefe could come in as a replacement. The ANC in North West had also claimed that they nominated Molefe because he belonged to a branch in Madibeng in that province. Xenophobic Attacks in Pretoria

Violence broke out in Pretoria West on Saturday morning with community members vowing to rid the area of “drugs and prostitution”. The African Diaspora Forum (ADF) on Saturday called on the South African government to take all necessary steps to prevent attacks on foreign nationals.
